  Dear WordPress,
  I have purchased the domain name petrasbilder with the swedish .se end.
  I would like to create a wordpress-site with the name petrasbilder.se but the system says that the domain-name petrasbilder does not exist. What is wrong?
  I have a receipt in swedish from Binero with my purchased domain name.
  I have registrered in wordpress the name petrasbilder.se but this turns out completely wrong: petrasbilderdotse.wordpress.com! Obviously I do not want the address to have ‘dotse’.

  You do need to have an underlying WordPressdotcom URL in order to map a custom domain to it. Is what you are wanting to do is to connect petrasbilder.se to your site at picotbytorhild.wordpress.com?

  Domain mapping is a paid upgrade that needs to be renewed each year. Here’s more about domain mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  If an additional site was accidentally created under the same username account as a result of trying to map your custom domain, you can choose to delete it or make it private for testing. More about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Hi there,

  I have purchased the domain name petrasbilder with the swedish .se end.

  Every site comes with a free address with .wordpress.com in the URL. You can hide the .wordpress.com part by registering a new domain or mapping one you already own:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Once the domain has been mapped, you can set it to be your primary domain. Visitors can get to your blog using any of the domains you added, but the address they see in their browser’s address bar will always be the primary domain.

  Obviously I do not want the address to have ‘dotse’.

  If you don’t want ‘dotse’ at the end of your free address, you can change it using these instructions:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

  but the system says that the domain-name petrasbilder does not exist.

  When you create an account on WordPress.com, the matching WordPress.com address is reserved for you. The reason you are unable to use petrasbilder.wordpress.com is because that address has been reserved for another user.
