domain name

    Hello,
I recently changed my domain name from ‘mentaloop.worpress.com’ to ‘eugenesamolin.wordpress.com’ I did this a couple of hours ago.

I accidentally removed my access to the first domain name, and I wish I hadn’t, because now when people search for me on google, my old domain name pops up and they can’t access my site. Is there any way I can change this so that anyone who clicks on my old domain name will be redirected to the new one?

    Eugene.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

    Unfortunately

Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address

    As per: Delete Site

I am still tagging a staff member to see if anything can be done in this regard.

    Thanks

    Hi Eugene,

Changing your blog address is a process that cannot be reversed. Once you have discarded your old address, it’s not possible to reuse it. I’m afraid you won’t be able to use mentaloop.worpress.com again.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hello @eugenesamolin,
As per this support document: https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/

The search engines can take 4-6 weeks or more to add any new sites.

    and also

It may take 4-6 weeks or more for search engines to revisit your blog and discover new content.

So i would recommend you to wait for a 4-6 weeks so that the blog address gets updated.

If you cannot wait and want to speed up the process you can try registering your site on Google which may help speeding up the update process.

Read the support document i gave above for more details.

    Thanks! 🙂

@otpidusprime So we did :) Thanks for adding that extra information.

Eugene — in addition to my last reply. It’s not possible to redirect your old domain as you no longer have access to it.
