  Probably a dumb question, but I can’t find a specific answer on your site. I already have a domain name with namecheap. But I want to use it here. The upgrade said $13 a year, but when I select it, it says $99. What am I missing?

  I believe the 13$ ‘Domain mapping only’ option is no longer being offered.
  The minimum you’ll need to use a domain would the personal plan.

  It depends on how you would like to use the domain from namecheap with your WordPress.com blog.

  You can map your existing domain or you can do a site redirect.

  It can be a bit confusing, but domain mapping replaces kellyferrall.wordpress.com with your-own-domain.com, so when someone visits your blog – the content displayed is from kellyferrall.wordpress.com.

  Site redirect sends a visitor from kellyferrall.wordpress.com to your-own-domain.com – the content displayed is from your-own-domain.com

  Use domain mapping if you have your site hosted here
  Site redirect if you leave WordPress.COM and want to send visitors to your new site

  If you want to map a domain, you will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site in order to map a domain.
