  I have been trying to get my domain paid for, however, i switched it to WordPress.org and Bluehost for hosting but since it is still wordpress.com it won’t renew without renewing wordpress.com which I do not want. Please research and allow me to gain access to this renewal of domain name ONLY…this is seriously hurting my blog.

  Unfortunately, it appears as though you domain name has expired and it is in a redemption period (I was able to see that information here: https://www.whois.com/whois/survivingdystopia.com).

  I have tagged this thread with modlook for staff to assist you if you would like to pay the $80 redemption fee, they may be able to help you renew your domain.

  Hi DJ Cooper,

  survivingdystopia.com expired a couple of months ago and was registered using a different account to the one you are contacting us from now. It was possible to recover the domain for some weeks after its expiration — but due to the length of time that has passed this is no longer possible. Unfortunately, we no longer control the domain and cannot renew it for you.

  This support document describes the expiration process in more detail, if you are interested:

  Recover an Expired or Cancelled Domain

  If a domain is not redeemed by the owner and is not purchased at auction, it is usually then returned to the pool of available domain names and can be registered again on a first-come, first-served basis.

  I’m unable to give you an exact timeframe, so all I can recommend is to keep checking to see if the domain has become available again.
