  Hi there, I asked about this issue more than a week ago, but nothing has changed and I would like to know what to do next to regain my domain name. I cannot understand whether it still belongs to me or no, even though it seems like the refund for it was made. So A) how long does it take for the name to become available? or B) the only way is to repurchase it is on WordPress?

  A) how long does it take for the name to become available?

  WordPress.com and most domain registrars, will register a domain for a year. After your domain expires, you have a Grace Period of about 10-14 days. During this time, the domain can be renewed at the regular price. After that, there is a Redemption Period before the domain is released. During the redemption period, your domain can still be renewed at an additional cost.

  B) the only way is to repurchase it is on WordPress?

  There are two types of domains you can use with a WordPress.com plan:

  1. Registered Here – A domain registered with WordPress.com
  2. Registered elsewhere – A domain registered with another registrar, but used with a WordPress.com site.
