  Hi there,
  I’m already the owner of this URL: http://www.afwhangarei.org.nz/ bought to an external supplier.
  I have created recently a new website on WordPress with this URL: afwhangarei.wordpress.com.
  I’d like to map the second one to the first one to only use http://www.afwhangarei.org.nz/. I saw that first I need to pay for the minimum personal plan in which is included a mapping. My question is in that case, do I have to continue to pay an external hosting or can I stop it and just use the one included in Worpress for free? So that I have just to continue to pay for the URL to my external supplier.

  Hope you have gone through basics of Using WordPress. Basic plan of wordpress allows you to use your personal domain. But the services are limited. And if you’ve already paid for some external sources to host that personal website, that has no deal with wordpress. You can directl use wordpress for all your personal, professional and ecommerce use. So that you can pay only to wordpress rather paying both includes external host.

  Yes, you are right you first need to go to MySites->Plan and buy the personal plan. Then add the domain by going to MySites->Domain and use the domain mapping guidelines to map your domain.

  Yes, you can cancel your domain hosting, as the Personal Plan includes 6GB of storage and hosting of your site.

  Note that you will only have to continue to pay for your domain renewal and cancel your hosting. You can cancel your hosting one’s the domain mapping transition takes place smoothly.
