  Hi!

  Long story short,

  1) I’d like to know if I can use an existing Malaysian Domain Name (example.com.my) on WordPress. If yes, can you guide me step by step?

  I have tried to look around on the support articles but thought it was best to ask WordPress directly.

  Hello.

  Yes, you should be able to do that easily enough. Hopefully I can help.

  What you need to do is login to your WordPress site. On the left menu you should see an option for Domains There will also be an Add button on the same option. Click the add button and then on the right window you will see an “Already own a domain?” option. This is what you want to click and then you can click the transfer domain from the options. You can move it from you previously hosted website or map the domain name. There is an option to learn about each with more details but it sounds to me like you are wanting to transfer your domain.

  I’ll have to create a WordPress site to test it out then…do you know if there are any fees to be paid if I wish to use my own domain name?

  Your welcome.

  Yes, depending on what plan your currently have and which direction you decide to go, there may be some fees but as you go through the process it explains the prices and what is needed to make the transfer. :)

  I noticed the account you are logged in to hasn’t created any sites on WordPress.com yet. What is the address of the site you are working on? If you haven’t created one, I can send some information about how to do that.

  It’s alright. I’ve decided to continue with m current web hosting platform.
