Domain Name

    Hi there,
    I have a question regarding the purchase/ creation of a domain name. I am just wondering can I purchase a domain name from another website and ‘import’ it to a WordPress website that I will be creating? If so, are there costs involved?
    Also what would the other option be with regard to purchasing a domain name? Can I just purchase one on WordPress and if so, what too are the costs?

    Hey there,

    If you own a domain elsewhere and wish to transfer it to WordPress.com you can do so by following the directions outlined in the following link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/. Keep in mind you will require an upgraded WordPress.com plan in order to do so.

    You can register a domain at WordPress.com, every site comes with a free .wordpress.com domain and once you upgrade your plan you can remove this extension. For more information on domains at WordPress.com please check out this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/.
