  I already own my domain name, why do I need to pay to transfer it?
  I can’t afford to be billed annually right now.

  Hi there!

  If you’ve purchased an external domain name (example.com) and would like to point it (map) to your WordPress.com site, there is a charge for that, but any upgraded plan will do. WordPress.com pricing information is here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  I’m seeing that the “Personal” annual price right now (Sept. 18, 2018) in $US is $48.

  If your domain registrar also offers hosting, you can host a free WordPress.org site there, but that usually comes with an annual fee as well.

  Otherwise you can continue to use the free blog features at WordPress.com with your existing free domain at thefanshow.wordpress.com.
