  Hi,
  I bought a domain but then cancelled it the same day and got a refund. I’m now trying to use the same domain on another website building site and it says it’s taken.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately and there is no guarantee they’ll be come available to register somewhere else.

  Hi there,

  As mentioned above, cancelled domains are not released immediately, so you should never cancel a domain you still want to use. If you want to use it somewhere else from where you bought it you can map or transfer it, but if you cancel you run the risk of losing it completely.

  In this case your domain, emmasdogrescue.com, should be released towards the weekend, at which point you should be able to register it somewhere else.

  If you prefer I can also still restore it to your WordPress.com account, but as your payment has already been refunded you’ll need to pay for it again before I can do that.

  We have no way of manually releasing the domain immediately.
