  We currently have an active website and domain name with a different provider. We are unhappy with this provider and want to change. I we transfer our current domain to WordPress, will the current website remain active? Or will the website go offline?

  Hi there,

  If you transfer your domain to us it will no longer be connected to the current site, so that site will go offline. That site will also be completely deleted from your hosting provider’s servers once you cancel your hosting account with them.

  But you can create a free WordPress.com site in your account and transfer all your content on the current site to us before you transfer the domain over to us. You can find detailed instructions on the process to follow here:
