  When selecting my domain name, the site says ‘free with your plan,’ but then asks me to pay on the next page. How do I complete the task of having a domain name without having to pay?

  Hello!

  When creating a new site and selecting a domain, the top two options are paid plans, and the option just below that is a free subdomain.

  If you want a domain like yourname.com, you’ll need an upgraded plan: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  But if you want something like yourname.wordpress.com or yourname.home.blog, you can proceed with a free plan.
