Domain Name

    Hello,

I must have misread the terms for Domain mapping. At the bottom of the screen, it said that it was free with my plan, however, when I go to map a domain it asks me for a purchase of 96/mo which is the same price as simply registering the domain through wordpress. I chose to use GoDaddy when I saw that domain mapping was Free with my plan, however, it’s looking like that’s not the case. Any suggestions?

    Hi,

It might be that you have to also add a mapping subscription to your site.

  • Hi there,

If you buy a plan you can register one domain for free, and registering additional domains come at an additional cost. Furthermore, this is only for the first year – from the second year onwards the domain registered for free with the plan also renews at an additional cost.

This is not the case with domain mapping, as domain mapping is free with any paid plan. In other words, if you buy a paid plan, you can map as many domains as you want at no additional cost, and you will not be charged to renew the domain mapping upgrades in subsequent years.

But you still need to purchase a paid plan, as you cannot add domain mapping on the free plan, which is what you currently have.
