  I want to delete my account. If I do this will I be able to use my domain name elsewhere?

  Are you referring your domain here as http://latestappearance.wordpress.com/ or you have any other custom domain added with WordPress.com.

  Deleting account is not the valid option to release your domain.

  If you are having any custom domain with WordPress and want to use elsewhere you can just transfer it from here or you can map that domain to any other host or registrar you want.

  If you want to use the example.wordpress.com domain on any other account you can transfer that too from one account to another. Deleting the account will actually delete all the data including domain which might be difficult in later stages to get back.

  So please confirm once which domain are you talking about so that we can put you in right direction.
