  I created a domain name through Godaddy will I have to pay for transferring it here

  WordPress allows you to add custom domain only if you are under any of the paid plans. So if you are already under any of the paid plans then you just need to transfer your domain to WordPress and if your domain is about to renew in next 2 – 3 months then they charge you for renewal of next cycle.

  If you are under free plan then you need to purchase any paid plans WordPress offers to use custom domain to your site.
