Domain Name

  I want to have a Domain Name and understand I have to do “domain mapping” for my wordpress.com blog to automatically move to my domain (a club). I want people within my club to be able to get into my domain (unpurchased at this time), but I don’t want them to be receiving ads from wordpress when they join. I’ve tried “invite” and “user” (using my husband’s email) but I still can’t seem to get directly into the blog without having to go through a bunch of wordpress emails and logins, etc. I would like folks to just be able to type in the website, subscribe (so they automatically get emails) and then I want to make the blog private. Can you please explain how to set this up before I purchase my domain (which I’m sure I’ll spend another day trying to map!)?

  Unfortunately, if you want the blog to remain private, they’ll need to register for WordPress.com accounts before you can add them to your blog.

  It’s the only way to keep track of who is and who isn’t allowed to view your private blog.
