  Hello, I would like to move over to a different web domain company/site builder. Currently my ideal domain of changemypathangela.com is on wordpress, if I permanently delete my site, account, everything with wordpress will this make the .com domain available to me on another hosting site? Many thanks.

  Hi changemypathangela,

  You shouldn’t delete your site permanently without transferring the domain. Once you complete the domain transfer process, WordPress.com team automatically removes the upgrades.

  @ravichahar is correct: you need that site active so you can transfer your registration. (thank you ravichahar!)

  We can restore the site if you request it within 30 days of deletion, so please let us know if you’d like us to do that for you. Your other option is to create a new, blank site, then contact support so we can move the domain to that. The first option is faster for you and faster for us, too.

  @changemypathangela, I just took another look at the domain and realized it’s not actually registered here.

  You can log into the registrar and change its settings to point to your new host. Hoping that helps!
