Domain name

I already own a domain name but it ends in com.au – Can I transfer this to WordPress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi reidonwriting,
On WordPress.com, we are currently unable to accept incoming transfers for .au domains but they can be mapped instead.
I noticed ianreid-author.com uses WordPress.org software with another host, so our mapping upgrade wouldn’t apply to this site.
Do you want to transfer a domain to WordPress.com (and renew it through us going forward) while keeping it pointed to your current host?
Or do you want to create and host a new site and WordPress.com and use the domain here?
Once I know for sure, I can point you in the right direction :)

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I do have an existing (personal) WordPress site, but my enquiry is about creating a new (business) WordPress site, using a separate (already-purchased) domain name ending in .au – so presumably it’s a mapping process. Is this likely to meet any problems?

Hi there,
Is this likely to meet any problems?
You won’t encounter any problems. Mapping a domain is a straightforward process. You can read more on how to set it up here:
