I currently have a domain name with go daddy and I have purchased a plan through go daddy to build a website on godaddy. I I’m having trouble transferring my domain name rentamedic.net to my wordpress site. I read that I need to map but when I start the process it tells me that I have to pay 96 dollars again like if I was purchasing a other site again I thought transferring my domain to wordpress was free!

GoDaddy and WordPress.com are two separate places where sites can be hosted.
You need to decide where you want your site to be hosted.
Probably you didn’t need to buy a plan at GoDaddy when you appear to want to map that domain to the WordPress.com site https://rentamedic.wordpress.com/. You’ll need a WordPress.com Personal plan or higher to map that domain to your WordPress.com site.
