  when I upgrade my account does my domain name get grid of ‘WordPress’ in the URL handle?

  Hi @travisr401, sure. You’d be welcome to add a custom domain when you upgrade.

  If you already own a domain name, you can use the Personal plan and then upgrade from there again if you’d like. Then you can map the domain, or opt to transfer it to our servers.

  Just know that we cover the cost of the domain transfer for the first year with a paid plan. That would extend your domain by a year. Next time you renew, you’ll pay your domain renewal fee separately: right now most domains are about $18/year with privacy.

  OR, you can opt to map the domain and keep it with its current registrar, renewing there each year before it expires. Domain mapping is free with our Personal plan and up.
