  I read that wordpress.com is free. But you are giving me a price. Can I get a free domain name?

  You’re currently logged in to an account where you already have the free site https://brookwrite.wordpress.com/ You could work on that? If you wish to create another free site it’s easy to do at “My Sites” “Add a new site”. Note that free sites end in the subdomains .wordpress.com or .home.blog or similar. You can’t get a free site if you want to use some other custom domain.
