I am creating a new website in WordPress for a client (my first) who currently has a site and domain (which she owns and will use) but the site was created from another company. Until we are ready to go live, on 12/15/20 is there a way for me to create this under a temporary name? on 12/15/20 shut down the old site and upload the new site with the domain? How do I set this up in WordPress so I can get to work

You’d need to transfer ownership to your client at some point and then they could upgrade the site to a paid plan to map or transfer the custom domain to it.
