  Will the website be named as myname.com or it has to be myname.wordpress.com?

  If you are setting up a free website, it will need to be in the mygroovysite.wordpress.com format. However, the ability to use a custom domain (mygroovysite.com) is available with all paid WordPress.com site plans:

  I have set up a free website so my website is myname.wordpress.com
  My question is: Since my website name is very long & I will be placing an extremely small ad on a paper publication what is the shortest name I can put?

  @acadianwalkingtours, the domain name you use depends completely on you, however, it’s also important that for it to be easy to remember for your visitors.

  If you feel like yours is too long you can either think of a shorter version (like an acronym) and change your address as explained here:
