  Hi there,

  There is no such time period defined for a domain to be available for users again.

  It might take up to 2 or more years to get the WordPress.com site available, however, the availability of your domain can’t be guaranteed.

  If you find that an active blog address is registered by another user, you may be able to obtain it for your use if the owner of the blog agrees to transfer it to you.

  Hi there,

  Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

  In this case your domain should be completely deleted towards the middle of next week, at which point you’ll be able to register it somewhere else.

  We can also still restore the domain to your WordPress.com account if you prefer. Let me know if you want to do that instead, and I’ll send you a link to pay for the domain, as your original payment was refunded when you cancelled.

  The support page you link to pertains to free example.wordpress.com addresses, not custom domains, and deleted WordPress.com addresses never become available for re-use, so your statement that it can become available in two years is incorrect.

  @kokkieh Is there any way to restore a domain to a free account?
  I changed the site address because I was merging my content with someone who has now backed out of the merge. I really need to change it back if at all possible.

  it was ajungleinhere.wordpress.com
  it is now dreamleavesstudio.wordpress.com

  Can you help?
