  I have a domain currently that I want to keep until I have the word press site totally designed. Then I want to end that site and transfer the domain to you. It seems I have to move it all now but it will take me some time to build the site and I can’t go down for weeks.

  To avoid going down for weeks you can continue building your new website then when it’s completed you can upload it to WordPress.com via FTP: https://wordpress.com/support/ftp-access/ However, you need a WordPress Business plan or higher to use the FTP features.

  I have to move it all now but it will take me some time to build the site and I can’t go down for weeks.

  If your new website would take too long to build you can migrate your current website content to WordPress.com and then do a domain transfer but first you need to create a WordPress.com account.
