  I just received an email saying that I have to verify my contact information for a domain name that I have just yesterday cancelled and received a refund for.

  Odd. I can see it’s still pending cancellation and should be released within about 5 days. Do you want to let that run its course? I think it’s safe to ignore the email about the contact verification in the meantime.
