I just bought a domain name with a 2 year hosting package. I’d like to use WordPress to design my website. Can I leave my domain with the hosting package I just bought?

Hi @emmaowa, can you reach out to your current host? You would be welcome to host the site here, but we wouldn’t be able to offer any refunds from a different company.
Regarding the domain: if it’s new, you can likely cancel and wait a few days so you can register it again. If you bought it some time ago, you would need to transfer instead. It sounds like you’re saying it’s newer, so I’d recommend contacting your host right away to find out your options.
Also, so you have a clear understanding of your options with WordPress, your host _might_ let you install a free copy of it there, too. We wouldn’t be your service providers, so you’d just need to handle security / maintenance / support on your own, with contractors, or with the help of the community at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
