Domain Name
-
Hi there,
I understand you offer the first year domain name for free.
I wondered if that means I can change my domain name within that year for free, or if I decide I want to change it after 2 weeks or 2 months for example, will I have to pay for the new domain, or is it still free until 12 months is up?Thank you,
Bea

Hi Bea,
When a domain is registered, it’s registered for a full year.
A domain extension, like .com, is managed by an organisation called a registry. When you register a domain with us as your domain provider (registrar), we pay the registry for you to use that domain name for one year. The specific domain name you registered, and no other.
So once it’s registered, it cannot be modified, and if you want a different domain, you’ll need to register a different domain, in addition to the one you already have.
Our plans only include one domain registration, so any additional domains you register like this cost extra.
The only time you wouldn’t pay extra is if you cancel the original domain within 96 hours of registering it. During the first 96 hours the domain registration is not yet final, and we still get a refund for the domain from the registry if we cancel it, so in that case you can use the free domain in the plan again. But after 96 hours the registration is fixed for a year, and the registry don’t give a refund if we cancel the domain.
