  Hi,
  We already have a website but we want to build a new one on wordpress, in the background. Can we delay the domain part to a later stage?

  Hi there, Yes you definitely can. You can build your website while on a free plan and then add, purchase, map or transfer domain later as long as you will be upgrading your plan.

  You can also purchase any plan and still use the free .wordpress.com subdomain, and only map or transfer yours when you’re ready to launch :).
