hi, I would like to keep the domain name 7chfoundation.org, but delete the site is that possible?

Hi! Your best bet in a case like that would be to transfer the domain. Or if you wanted to keep it registered here, you could simply make the site private.
It does look like you already did cancel the domain, though, and because it had been cancelled for a few weeks already, it’s in redemption now:
The registrar charges an $80 to return it, plus any renewal fees. Would you like us to send an invoice for that?
If you don’t want to pay that, you can allow their process to continue. After several days, the domain will go up for auction, and if no one buys it, it will be released. Then whoever gets to it first can buy it at the regular price. Please be aware this is a risky option, especially if the domain could be in demand.
Timing is everything in domain recovery, so please let us know as soon as possible if you’d like to try getting it back.

The domain can no longer be recovered by us, as it is now fully out of our hands and in the process of re-entering the public market: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#domain-released
I recommend trying to register it as a new domain once a day. As long as no one else registers it before you, you should be able to recover it eventually.
