  Hi! Tech and I are not friends so forgive me if this is a basic question. I purchased a domain name from GoDaddy. I have since assigned it to my Shopify store. Can I somehow attach my new wordpress account to this domain as well? Thanks.

  Hi there,

  You are planning on setting up a new site on WordPress.com? To add a custom domain (one without “WordPress.com” in the URL) will require one of the plans we list here, as it is not possible to assign a custom address to a free site.

  It would be possible to use the domain that you have assigned to Shopify but I am not sure how to answer without a bit of background. Do you plan to continue to use the domain with your Shopify site and your WordPress.com site at the same time? What is the URL of the Shopify site now?
