  Hello, I cancelled my payment for my domain name (jisunsung.com) on wordpress, I would like to be able to use it again for another website (not on wordpress). By cancelling my payment I thought that the domain name will be available right away but apparently it’s not, what can I do? Thank you.

  Hey there,

  If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

  If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site

  Since you recently registered the domain, it takes 60 days from when you first registered before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:

  I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.
