You just created your WordPress.com account?
Do you wish to use your Namecheap domain on your WordPress.com website?
Note: To add a custom domain to your WordPress.com site you must be under any of the paid plans of WOrdPress.com. To know more about the plans, please refer to the link below:

Hi @themaineagent & @shubhamgmath
Just to add to this conversation @themaineagent, please do not edit your site URL, you might affect your website, that is not how you redirect the domain.
You do that by updating your nameservers to map your Namecheap Domain to the WordPress.com site.
Like @shubhamgmath said, you will need a paid plan for this and if you already have a paid plan, follow this guide to map your domain: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

Hi there. If you have a domain with Namecheap, and you want to use it at Namecheap, you need to contact Namecheap support for help with this. They should be able to configure your domain for you automatically so it correctly points to your site on their servers.
The forum you’re posting in now is for WordPress.com, a completely different hosting provider from Namecheap. If you build a site at Namecheap, you’ll be using the open source WordPress software made on WordPress.org, which is not the same thing as WordPress.com.
@shubhamgmath, the OP starts their question with a statement that they want to stay with Namecheap, so giving them domain mapping instructions explaining how to point the domain to WordPress.com is the exact opposite of what they want.@therefoiam, the OP didn’t say anything about changing their site URL. Their question is about updating DNS records to redirect where a domain points.
