How do I get the domain lukewilsondesign.co.uk back? I never renewed my premium account a month or two ago but I would like to now. I want to know I can get that domain before I make the payment. It says it is already mapped to another site when I try to claim the domain but that site is mine.

Your domain is registered on TUCOWS as I can see here:
https://www.whois.com/whois/lukewilsondesign.co.uk so it is only mapped to WordPress.com website. That means you do not have to add domain to cart, because here on WordPress.com you pay for website and hosting, but on TUCOWS you pay for domain. But you may need to add to cart a mapping subscription for that domain together with a Personal plan or higher.But anyway, adding this thread to Staff attention to check.

It looks like your domain
lukewilsondesign.co.ukrenewed back in February and you requested a cancellation and refund within 96 hours of that renewal.The domain registrar holds any cancelled domains until the next expiration date (which would be March 2022), so you wouldn’t be able to repurchase the domain until then.
Since you had this domain through WordPress.com, you do have a few options:
Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.
@maksimurasov – the domain was registered at Automattic and is in a pending state, so it is not registered with TUCOWS at the moment. Feel free to tag any threads pertaining to domains to us if you’re not sure. :) -

Sorry for mixing up here…
I as a volunteer can not see the system inside, therefore have added modlook to check if my decisions are right. Am disappointed that they were not. Therefore I would be happy if you could comment on below.I was pretty sure about domain registrar to be TUCOWS because of info found on online lookup websites.
Do you have any ideas why do they show incorrect info, or how TUCOWS is involved here?
ICANN https://lookup.icann.org/lookup shows error, probably that is an indicator that something may be wrong with the other lookups? Seems I can not rely one or two lookups, have to check several in a row.Thanks in advance!

This particular domain was registered by Automattic through OpenSRS, which is a subsidiary of TUCOWS. When the plan was cancelled/refunded, it won’t show Automattic as the registrar if you use a general WHOIS search. You would need to have access to our backend tools to accurately find the current status of this particular domain.
A good rule of thumb is if someone mentions having a plan with us previously it likely would mean the domain was registered as part of that plan, so using our internal tools would also likely be needed.

Hi helper-heroponriki thanks a lot for the help. I bought a new plan and skipped the domain part. What do I do now? I am happy to buy the domain back if it is a reasonable price but I need it before March 2022.

Hi Luke:
With the purchase of a plan you get the first year of domain registration included with the plan price, so I was able to restore the domain back under your account.
You can go to your Domains page and set the domain as the primary for your WordPress.com site by following the steps here:
