  I am ready to purchase WordPress business after trialing a free account. I am being asked if I want to transfer my domain name to WordPress before i can purchase. As I am unfamiliar with WordPress I don’t know if this is a good idea or not! I would appreciate any thoughts please.

  Glad to hear you’re enjoying WordPress.com!

  It’s not necessary to transfer a domain at this stage, whilst a site is being built, it’s possible to use a .WordPress.com domain ( https://lightschoolnz.wordpress.com ) until you’re ready to use a custom domain.
