  I have purchased the domain name “morganpublicity.com” from GoDaddy. Why do I have to pay here to use it, if the name is legally mine? How do I go about setting up morganpublicity.com on wordpress?

  The domain mapping upgrade cost is regularly trashed in for forum as “why do I need to pay extra if I own the name” – the cost of the Domain Mapping (setting up the records that you never see) if built into the cost of hosting if you go to a company like Blue Host – here hosting is FREE, so WordPress.COM needs to charge for the domain mapping as a separate charge

  My take on it – the $ 13.- / year is way less than my over $ 100.- / year hosting cost on an outside host
