Domain name

  Hi.
  I’ve signed up to wordpress premium and I want the url for my blog to exclude ‘.wordpress’. How do I achieve this? Is it just a case of registering a domain and if I do so will that effectively become my wordpress blog with all the attendant benefits, tools etc?

  Hi Geoff,

  Great questions. In order to register a custom domain that will exclude “wordpress” from your address, click on Store in your Dashboard. Then opt to Add a Domain. From there, our system will guide you through the process.

  More information about Custom Domains can be found here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/

  You will still manage your WordPress.com site via your Dashboard. All the tools will still be available to you, and your content will still be stored on our servers. However, when readers visit your site, they will see the new Custom Domain in their address bar, rather than the URL that includes “wordpress.”
