Domain name

  Hello – I am new to WordPress and wanted to buy ‘allthatjazz.me’ which I have done. However, apparently my blog url is allthatjazzdotme.wordpress.com and it redirects to a site called allthatjazzdotme1.wordpress.com.

  Could you please clarify? I only want allthatjazz.me and not the other url’s.

  Hiya Jasmine,

  I’m sorry for the confusion! You did indeed get allthatjazz.me. But the way that our system works is that a domain name (allthatjazz.me) is what your visitors see, but you still also need a [blogname].wordpress.com site which is used to manage your site. Usually our system takes the domain and adds the “dotme” (or if you’re getting a .com adds a “dotcom”) to the end and that’s your blog name. For some reason it created two though.

  I checked, and your domain is attached to allthatjazzdotme1.wordpress.com. If you log in and go to that site, you should see everything in place.

  You can delete the extra site by following the directions located right here:

  And if you’d like to change the name of your current blog, you can do so using the directions right here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

  Keep in mind however that it will have to be a totally new address that you change it to as we do not recycle blog addresses, so it’ll have to be a name that nobody has ever used before (including you).
