Domain Name
-
Hi there,
Our WordPress subscription recently expired and we have since moved our site onto another online hosting platform.
I have tried to purchase the domain name we had with you (www.themlambeproject.org) of a domain selling site however it appears not to have expired, do you know why this is the case and how we can transfer it over to our new site?
I was also wandering how much longer our mlambeproject.org email address’s will be working.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Jamie

Hey there, Jamie,
After your domain expired, if seems as if it may have been bought by a third-party in July. I am looking at the information here:
http://who.is/whois/themlambeproject.orgIs the person listed as administrator part of your organization?
Let me know.
Your email should not work, if the domain has been taken over by someone else. It is no longer set up here at WordPress.com.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much.

Hi there Robyn,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Unfortunately there has been a little mix up in my first query.
We originally had a blog with you called http://www.themlambeproject.wordpress.com . We then bought the domain name http://www.themlambeproject.com. This was hosted by wordpress and the account came up for renewal this year. We had decided to move to a different hosting site and set up a new website called http://www.themlambeproject.org .
Our problem is that we would like to send the traffic from http://www.themlambeproject.com to http://www.themlambeproject.org. However I can not find out where the http://www.themlambeproject.com name is held. Is it registeerred with you? If so, how can I get access to it?
Many Thanks,
Jamie

Hey Jamie!
It seems as if your domain themlambeproject.com was registered with us, but it expired on July 6, 2014.
Your domain status:
http://who.is/whois/themlambeproject.comDomain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 80 days. During this time, your domain may be put up for auction or sold on back-order. You can learn more about domain expiration here:
The good news is that we may still be able to recover your domain if it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one which we can waive.
I’ve emailed you a manual payment request. If you are interested in attempting to save the domain, please click the following link in the email.
The total price will be $98, which is $18 for the regular renewal plus the $80 late renewal fee.
Please reply back if you have submitted the payment so we can begin the recovery process. If we are unable to recover your domain your payment will be refunded.
If you do not wish to pay the $80 fee you may let the domain expiration process continue and attempt to register the domain again at the regular price once it has expired completely.
Please note that someone else may purchase the domain first, in which case you will be unable to register it again, but if you prefer this option just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide you further instructions.
Thanks much.
