Domain Name

I am currently using a WordPress premium domain name on a trial basis. I registered the domain as http://www.apilgrimsreflection.com, but the domain comes up as http://www.apilgrimsreflectiondotcom.com. Is the additional “dotcom” a result of the trial period, or is this the domain I was registered with? I would like to have the domain name without the “dotcom” in it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

I see where you have the Premium free trial, but it does not appear you have any Domains registered on this account.

Sites on WordPress.com can have two portions: the free site (example.wordpress.com) and the custom domain (example.com). We serve all the content from the *.wordpress.com site, that way if you ever want to stop using the custom domain, your free site will still be completely available forever.

You do have a free site with the URL apilgrimsreflectiondotcom.wordpress.com.

To turn this into apilgrimsreflection.com, you’ll need to Register the domain here:

    https://wordpress.com/domains/

Just click the blue “Register a New Domain” button.

Please note that domains are only refundable for 48 hours, this includes if you purchase them during your Free trial of the Premium plan.

If register the domain (for free under Premium as its cost is included with the $99 payment), then wait 48 hours, then wish to cancel the Premium free trial– you’ll need to pay the fee for domain registration before we can allow you cancel the Premium plan.

    Just a heads up. :)

Let me know if you have more questions or if anything is unclear.
