  Hi there,
  I have deleted my WordPress account. How long until the domain name becomes available to purchase again through different sites?

  Hi Bonnie,

  If you purchased a custom domain, It can take up to 90 days according to this support page:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/#what-happens-when-my-domain-expires

  If you are referring to your WordPress.com address – it’s gone forever, I’m afraid!

  Thanks so much Pat. I had purchased a custom domain. Do you know if it is possible to recover the domain name since it was only deleted today? If so, how to go about this through WordPress?

  If by custom domain you mean “mydomain.com” for example

  Hi Bonnie,

  According to this page:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/#grace-period

  You have a grace period of 10-14 days in which you can purchase the domain again, before it moves into the redemption period (more costly to recover!)

  Hello
  I am new to word press and have a domain name I would like to use for blog site. how do I transfer it over and what fees do I pay for this. Also just want to try it out for free (3GB storage) and then if loving it I will upgrade..is this easy to do… is it is to upgrade once started or is there more fees and hassles. Thanks for any info. :)

  You can map your domain that you already have to your WordPress site using these instructions:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  The cost depends upon the domain type – .com, .org, .io and so forth.

  Its really easy to upgrade to Premium and give it a trial and your domain will be mapped as part of the plan. You can cancel and get a refund within the 30 day trial period if you wish.

  Another quick question… is it possible to delete blog names/accounts and change my blog user name from smileslisa to ….. I would like to just start over and have the same theme in names that goes with the new domain. In my newness I started a couple pages so just want to delete make it cleaner :)
