Hey WordPress,
I’m currently a Weebly account, I would like to tranfer my business site to your platform. Weebly currently don’t have what I need, I’ve been with Weebly for 8 months & the update rate is ridiculously slow. I’ve pause my business cause i could’nt launch prior to Weebly lack of options. My store is a digital download store, selling music online. Now my question for you guys are, Is their a PayPal option to accept payments? Can I purchase themes that are compatible with WordPress that aren’t on the WordPress theme page?

There isn’t a true e-commerce solution here at WordPress.com. You can, however get a PayPal button. If you get a PayPal button, you’ll be able to sell individual items on your site and send your customers to a PayPal payment screen.
Can I purchase themes that are compatible with WordPress that aren’t on the WordPress theme page?
Here at WordPress.com, we can’t upload third party themes. All of the themes available to us can be found here:
You are able to upload themes and manage a true online store if you self- host a WordPress.org site. There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org that you can read about here:

Thank you for your response, really appreciate it. Themeforest.net have some really great themes that are compatible with WordPress. so basically you’re saying if i do use 3rd party themes i got to use WordPress.org?

You cannot use any third party themes on any site hosted by wordpress.COM.

There is no FTP access to any wordpress.com sites. The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
upload any third party themes,
create child themes,
create our own themes,
edit templates,
create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.See:

However, if you are reading anything that makes you think that we bloggers can install plugins, advertising, custom themes or third party themes on sites hosted by wordpress.COM, then you are mistaken/misinformed. We have never had that ability. You are confusing wordpress.COM hosted blogs and wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.
Blogger installed plugin capability does not exist on WordPress.COM blogs and there is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality. For that type of functionality, you’d need a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software install running on a paid web hosting service.

Calm down u sound a lil tense lol… I know you guys got custom theme’s on WordPress that are licensed to wordpress.com. The themes that I was looking at are not free on themeforest.net! Well since it’s not compatible for WordPress, I have no idea why are they selling or scamming people. All I need is to purchase a custom theme from WordPress, for digital purchases only, have a add to cart option on a HTML player, video header and the option to change multiple times I want.. -_-

This is correct. If the theme isn’t show here, you can’t use it at WordPress.com.
The themes that I was looking at are not free on themeforest.net! Well since it’s not compatible for WordPress, I have no idea why are they selling or scamming people.
While themes from themeforest.net aren’t compatible here at WordPress.com, they are available to you if you self- host with a WordPress.org install. This option seems to fit your needs a bit better. For a .org install, you will need to host your site elsewhere. This guide should help you get started.

There is no secure payments system here at wordpress.COM and you cannot add a shopping cart to sites hosted by wordpress.COM.

Provided you are selling only what you yourself make or a providing service that you personally provide on a wordpress.COM site, or you are asking for donations you have two options.
(1) PayPal – Know that the only instructions that will work for posting a PayPal donation button on a WordPress.com blog are found here http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

Some bloggers create a contact form https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/ on a page and after the people have made a PayPal donation they provide the link to a private page for downloading files. Maybe that will work for you.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
