Domain name change

    how to change your domain name:

    We have a wordpress site for some marketing within our company. Currently the site is “pubcentralpressroom.com”, but our company has undergone a name change and I need to updated my domain to “visdompressroom.com”. I have already purchased the custom domain, and I’m wondering if there is any way to just go in and edit that? I can’t seem to find a solution.

    Hi there,

    You can’t edit a domain once you have purchased it. However, you can register the new domain on your site following the instructions here:

    Register a New Domain

    At that point, you’ll have both pubcentralpressroom.com and visdompressroom.com on your site. You can set the primary domain to visdompressroom.com (included in the steps above). That way, your old domain will redirect to visdompressroom.com.

    Going forward, you can disable auto renew on your old domain from your My Upgrades page here:

    https://pubcentralpressroom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

    This way, your old domain will eventually expire and be removed from your account. However, in the meantime, visitors will be able to learn your new URL since they’ll automatically be redirected.
