Domain name change

  I am trying to figure out if it is possible to change my current domain name (onceuponasweatblog.com) to a fitisnotasize.com

  Please let me know!!!

  Hi there,
  Our content does not move when we purchase any upgrades for any of our blogs. When we purchase a domain mapping upgrade all that changes is the URL(s) and nothing else. If you want to purchase domain via a domain mapping upgrade then read and act on what follow please.

  In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from, and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.

  You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase upgrades for the blog.

  A self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server.   if you already have a website you don’t want to affect, and you want to add a blog to it under a subdomain (for example, blog.yourgroovydomain.com) see here http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/

  After you do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

  As you have already mapped one domain to that .wordpress.com URL you will need to have Staff remove the domain mapping to the first domain and replace it with mapping to the second URL.   Hi there,

  Please note that it is not possible to edit domain names as you can imagine, domain names are completely reliant on the spelling. If you would like to change your domain name, the only possibilty would be to purchase a new one. You can then let your previous domain: onceuponasweatblog.com expire.

  You can purchase the new domain by going to Store > My Domains in your Dashboard. Here’s a guide if you need more help with this:

  Register a New Domain

  Then make sure to set the new domain as the Primary Domain. This is actually helpful to keep around until your old domain expires (make sure to turn off the auto-renewal) because it will automatically redirect to the new domain.
