Domain Name Change

    Hi, I had a wordpress site http://www.tomdalevirtualtour.com. I wanted to change the name to another domain i own, td360.co.uk. (This domain used to be on Wix but I transferred it to HostGator where they are now both hosted). I got the all clear from HostGator that the transfer went over and so I changed my WordPress url in the general settings to td360.co.uk. Instead of keeping my WordPress site with a changed url the page http://www.tomdalevirtualtour.com now goes to my old site http://www.td60.co.uk with the Wix layout etc. Please how can i recover my WordPress and where has it gone ?? And is it possible to do the name change?

    Hi there,

    Your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another Hostgator.

    Changing the domain on a stand-alone WordPress site like yours has to follow a specific process – just changing the URL in settings only breaks the site and locks you out, as you’re describing.

    You can find the documentation for that process here, though many hosting providers have their own process for this via their hosting control panel.
