domain name changed

  Hello,
  I just changed my domain name, and I cant login anymore with wordpress account because the adress dont exists anymore.. I just wanted to change the adress name of my website and keep it as it was.. Now Im lost and I dont know what to do.

  What was the domain you were using before? I can try checking to see if it was setup at WordPress.com or not. If it was, then I can help guide you. If it was setup at a different web host other than WordPress.com, then I can help try to direct you to the right place to get help.

  Thanks for your help,
  Now Im logged in.. because I have created a subdomain with the old name in my host server (OVH) ..but Im more and more lost..

  I’ll try to describe cleary what I did:
  1. Transfer the main Domain in my host server (OVH)
  2. Create a subdomain in order to be able to login into wordpress
  3. trying to change in General Setting the WordPress and Site adress (URL).. editing the 2 first line in wp-config.php (cause it was greyed out)

  .. but then Im lost.. the adress is not found anymore and I cant log in anymore.
  Hope you can help.. it will be more than appreciated..
  old domain name: christiangarcia.ch
  new domain name: g-gaucher.com

  This is the problem.

  This guide explains how to fix that problem:

  What you are describing are issues with a self-hosted WordPress.org setup, but you have posted in a WordPress.com forum. Those are two separate things. For future advice for your type of WordPress setup, please post at http://wordpress.org/support/ Sorry the naming is confusing! And best of luck with fixing the mixed up settings. If you run into trouble with the instructions, I would recommend contacting your web hosting provider directly for help with the specifics.

  Im trying to follow this guide, but I can understand only the half of it.. and then nothing is working.. really a pitty, its not the kind of thing for common people..
  About wordpress.org, I knew it, but it was impossible to login because of this domain change.. so I saw the only solution to be helped to create a new account here..

  This is one of the tradeoffs with getting more control. A self-hosted WordPress.org setup means you have full control of the code and all settings—this also means you are responsible to maintain your setup yourself or with the help of your web host. You might consider contacting your web host for help since you now have the exact instructions you need to fix the problem.

  The forum you are posting in here is for WordPress.com and you want the one for WordPress.org. It’s two separate forums. You should be able to create an account there if you would like to ask for help separately in that forum in the future: https://wordpress.org/support/register.php Regarding this specific issue though, I would recommend that you contact your web host since it is a company other than WordPress.com in this case.
