Domain Name connected to wrong WordPress Blog

    I have an existing free wordpress blog (abc.wordpress.com).

    I wanted to retain this ‘abc’ as a free blog, and create a new paid website with a domain name ‘XYZ.com’ that I own (GoDaddy is the domain registrar).

    When I purchased a plan and connected by domain name via GoDaddy, it automatically connected XYZ.com to abc.wordpress.com.

    I was within the refund period and I cancelled my purchase, but now it is still showing me that the domain name XYZ.com is linked with an existing wordpress account, so I cannot link it to a new wordpress blog.

    This is the error message I get:
    ‘XYZ.com is already connected to your site abc.wordpress.com. If you want to connect it to this site instead, we will be happy to help you do that.’

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hello there,

    I see that your domain http://kritika-gupta.com/ is now connected to your site that has the Personal Plan. So, I just wanted to ensure everything is working okay now.

    If you need to remove a domain connection in the future, you can click on subscriptions from:
    https://wordpress.com/me/purchases

    There will be an option to remove it. Also, here is information about connecting domains for future reference:
    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/
