domain name disappeared

I’m trying to use my domain name on a zenfolio website (it’s registered through WordPress). I am not really sure what to do, so I was trying to follow directions on the support forums. But I think I accidentally deleted it because it doesn’t show up under my domains anymore. How do I get it back, and then how do I use it for my zenfolio site?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I did figure out where it “disappeared” to, but how do I change the name server? The forum confused me as I’m not very technical. I need to know exactly what to type into the CNAME record.

    Hi there,

I’m glad that your domain didn’t disappear! :)

Are you still having problems changing your nameservers? If so, have you seen our help article yet which walks you through the process? If not, I can see why you are having issues, because it’s a bit complicated. This will help you through the whole thing, and has screenshots and everything!

    Change a Domain’s Name Servers

I have read that, but I’m not sure what to use as nameserver 1 and nameserver 2. Doing a search and trying to figure it out.

If my domain name is willowtreestudiophotos.com, and I want it to point to my zenfolio page, should my CNAME be : CNAME willowtreestudiophotos custom.zenfolio.com. {custom.zenfolio.com} is what zenfolio said to enter. Then, would my A name look like this : A zenfolio 64.62.158.18? Again, that is the IP zenfolio gave me. I think I have it, but it’s hard to wait 48 hours to see if it worked.

    Hi there,

So has Zenfolio not provided any nameservers? They only provided an A record for you to point your domain at? If so, then that will require setting things in a different way.

Let me know and I will set your A record for you to the IP which you provided!

Well, after research, it seems that I should not change the nameservers as wordpress is still the registrar (zenfolio doesn’t do that).

    Hi there,

OK, I’ve gone ahead and changed your A record for you so that it points properly towards 64.62.158.18. You will get an email letting you know that your Nameservers have been changed. That was required in order to make this change, so don’t worry about that!

Within the next 1 to 48 hours, the DNS updates will complete and your site will be available online!
