Domain name due for renewal

    Hey all, I received an email telling me that my domain name was due for renewal, but when I click on the domains dashboard link, I get a message that says I don’t have any WordPress sites yet.

    Has anyone had this message and if so, how did you solve it.

  • Hi Terri,

    you’re probably logged into the wrong account, what’s the domain in question?

    Try logging out and log in using the email address to which the notification has been sent.

    I used the link in the email I was sent, which is the email my domain is attached to. I haven’t used the site for a couple of years and thought I might like to keep it. I don’t really see how I could be logged into the wrong account!

  • If there’s any type of email forwarding set up then you could be looking at a different email account than what is on the account. Please share the URL or domain of the site in question so that we can take a better look.

    The account that you’ve used to contact us has never made any purchases on WordPress.com.

  • That domain does not belong to the terri65 account you’re using to post here. It belongs to a different WordPress.com account.

    If you clicked a link in the email while you were already logged into the terri65 account, that link would have take you to the Purchases page for the terri65 account, not the account that owns the domain.

    If you received the email at the email address connected to your terri65 account, that’s because that’s the same as the admin email that was provided when the domain was registered. But the actual WordPress.com account that owns the domain is associated with a different email address, and you should have received notification emails at that address as well.
