Domain name expired
-
I found a related (closed) topic, but can’t seem to understand how to resolve this. My domain name expired on 11/23 (collectdotgive.org) and I need to get the site renewed and back up ASAP. I’ve sent messages to support from the 23rd, but haven’t received a reply. Can someone advise how to do this? I can’t log into the dashboard for the site, only an older WP site of mine.

If it just expired on 11/23, you should be able to renew it from Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.
You’ll need to access the WordPress.com blog’s Dashboard directly, via [your-blog].wordpress.com/wp-admin/

Thanks, mamanx.
But I’m not able to log into my account anymore. I’m logged in now using an older login/password/dashboard.
I really hope to find a fast solution for this, as the site is a charity-based website that we were hoping would be raising lots of money during this holiday season.
Any help is greatly appreciated, as I wait for WP to respond to my support ticket! Thanks!

WHY are you not able to log in under that account anymore? Log out of this account first.

Sorry, I don’t know why I can’t log in. An old account, which I never took live is how I’m able to log in here. It’s kevinmiyazaki.wordpress.com

As this could involve account details, please contact us via support@wordpress.com about this.

Thanks, macmanx – just sent an email. Hoping that, combined with my earlier correspondence, will get a quick reply. I appreciate your help here.

No reply yet from support, which is now marks one week of waiting.
Can anyone explain why support is so slow? This was my error for not renewing the domain, but why can’t I get any help? The site has had over 10,000 hits since November 1st, so we’re not a tiny personal blog. But regardless, I can’t believe I haven’t had any help at this point.
Incredibly disappointing.

Can anyone explain why support is so slow?
Because we’re providing free support for 29 million users and can sometimes get behind due to that. I’ll see if I can track down your request.
-
I’m unable to locate a ticket from the email address on your account. What is your ticket #? This should have been included in an auto-reply sent after you submitted your request.

macmanx,
I don’t see a ticket number on the email replies to my support requests. This is what the reply contained, in addition to my message sent:Thank you for your support request:
Your message is flying through cyberspace to us as you read this. We will get back to you as soon as we can. -
-
It’s not – this it the subject line:
[WordPress.com Support] Please help me get my domain up again – it just expiredThe email I sent the requests from is (email visible only to moderators and staff) if that makes a difference.

Thanks – got the reply and renewed the domain. The url still reverts to the .wordpress version – I’ve tried refreshing my browser and emptying cache…
Any idea how long that will last, and start pointing right to the non .wordpress url? -
It can take 24 to 72 hours for the changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet – but changes usually start sooner – you can also have cache issues with you ISP and the routers between you and your blog – watch the changes at the site below for your name
